How a sceptic checks it.

A DNO engineer, an insurer or a court expert can verify the pack with standard tooling, in order. If any file had been altered by a single byte, step one fails and says so.

    Recompute the hashes

    Run SHA-256 over each original and compare against the ledger. Any mismatch identifies the exact file.

  2. 02

    Check the device signature

    Verify the ledger was signed by the capturing device's key. The key never leaves the device, so the signature places the device at the capture.

  3. 03

    Check the timestamp tokens

    Validate the RFC 3161 tokens against the timestamp authority. The evidence existed, in this exact form, no later than the anchored time.
